A wedding banquet is a celebration full of happiness and joy. In the Bible, Jesus likened the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet. Though He could have chosen any joyful event, He specially compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet because there is a mystery contained in it that we must learn for our salvation.

Jesus’ Parable of the Wedding Banquet

Matthew 22:1-10 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come… Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

In order for a wedding banquet to take place, there must be the groom, the guests and most importantly, the bride. However, when Jesus delivered this parable 2,000 years, He did not mention the bride. It’s because the bride’s appearance would occur in the last days, at the end of God’s salvation work.

The Bride Appears in the Last Days

Just as the bride is the last to walk down the aisle during a wedding banquet, the Bible prophecies that the bride is to appear in the last days when Jesus comes a second time.

Revelation 19:7-9 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.) Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”..

Who appears with the Lamb, Christ (the groom) in the parable of the wedding banquet? The bride, who did not appear when Jesus came the first time, is prophesied to appear with Him in the last days. Who is this bride then?

The Bride is Heavenly Jerusalem, Our Mother

Revelation 21:9-10 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.

The angel said he would show the Apostle John the bride, the wife of the Lamb. Then whom did the angel show John? Apostle John was shown the Holy City, Jerusalem. This Jerusalem, is the prophetical, spiritual Jerusalem. Who is the Heavenly Jerusalem?

Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

The prophecy regarding the bride, who appears with the Lamb, is a prophecy about the appearance of God the Mother. When Jesus comes a second time, He will appear with His bride, and together, they will invite the people of God to the heavenly wedding banquet and receive the water of life.

Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

In order to be the guests of the wedding banquet, we must know the Spirit and the Bride, God the Father and God the Mother. The appearance of Heavenly Jerusalem Mother is absolutely necessary for our salvation.
