King David and Prophetic David- Ahnsahnghong

The Bible consists of many deep and mysterious secrets. Among them, let us study about the Second Coming Christ, the prophetic David through the secret hidden in the life of king David.

Seek King David in the Last Days

Hosea 3:5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.

Whom should God’s people seek to receive God’s blessing in the last days? We must seek David. Firstly, God’s blessings mean to receive salvation. No one can receive God’s blessings without first receiving salvation. Secondly, “the last days”  here mean these days, therefore this prophecy is to be fulfilled in this age. This prophecy implies that our salvation depends on whether we seek David or not. The book of Hosea was written 250 years after the death of David, so David here does not refer to the second king of Israel. He refers to a prophetic David who is to appear in the last days.  Who is He?

Jesus Is the Prophetic David

Isaiah 9:6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

This is a prophecy of God, who will be born as a child, a son (in the flesh). It is clear that this is a prophecy about Jesus. Whose throne does Jesus sit on? It is written that He will sit on David’s throne. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy in the New Testament. Let us confirm this.

Luke 1:31-32  You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David

Through this verse, we can understand that the one who fulfilled the prophecy in Isaiah, is Jesus. Jesus is the one who will sit on David’s throne. Therefore Jesus is the prophetic David and He came according to the prophecy of King David.

The Throne of David

Why did the Bible prophesy about Jesus by comparing Him to King David? It is to show us the works of Jesus through those of David. Let us find out the prophetic relationship between David and Jesus which is like a copy and reality. Since Jesus sits on David’s throne, let us study about the throne of David.

2 Samuel 5:4 David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years.

David was anointed at the age of 30 and became king. He began his work at the age of 30. How long did he reign over Israel? He reigned for 40 years. The life of the physical king David was a prophecy, which was fulfilled by the prophetic David. How did Jesus fulfill the prophecy?

Luke 3:21-23 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, the son of Heli,

At what age was Jesus baptized? At the of age 30. Just like David, Jesus the prophetic David was baptized at the age of 30 and began His Ministry. Jesus could have started His ministry at the age of 20 or 40, so why did He choose to begin preaching at the age of 30? It was to fulfill David’s reign on the throne. How long must Jesus preach? For 40 years.

However, at His first coming, Jesus preached only 3 years (Luke 13:6). From the 40 years, there still remains 37 years. The Bible says that all prophecies must be fulfilled (Matthew 5: 18), so the remaining 37 years must definitely be fulfilled too. To fulfill the prophecy, Jesus must come a second time. About this, let us refer to the book of Hebrews.

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

This is a prophecy about Jesus second coming. To fulfill the prophecy of David’s throne which Jesus did not complete at His first coming, Jesus must come a second time and preach 37 years.

The purpose of Jesus’ second coming is to bring salvation. This means that no one can have salvation unless they receive the Second Coming Christ. For this reason, prophet Hosea said that those who seek David in the last days will receive God’s blessing. Then how will Jesus come again? At His first coming 2,000 years ago, Jesus came in the flesh. In the same way, the Second Coming Jesus– prophetic David will appear in the flesh.

The Sign of  the Prophetic David

Many false prophets and false Christs are prophesied to appear in the last days then, how can we correctly recognize the Second Coming Christ? The Bible says there is a definite sign by which we can recognize Him.

Isaiah 55:3 Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

God prophesied to establish an everlasting covenant to save our souls. However, God promised it only to David. Therefore, the sign of the prophetic David is the everlasting covenant. Then, what is this everlasting covenant?

Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep

Here, let us focus on the words ‘through the blood of the eternal covenant’. These words imply that the eternal covenant is established through Jesus’ blood. What is the covenant established through Jesus’ blood?

Luke 22:20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

The only covenant established by the blood of Jesus is the New Covenant Passover. Therefore the New Covenant Passover is the sign of David- Jesus. Jesus came as the prophetic David 2,000 years ago, He established and preached the New Covenant. Similarly, Second Coming Christ, the prophetic David must also establish and preach the New Covenant.

Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled this prophecy. He was born in 1918, baptized in 1948 at the age of 30 and began His Ministry thereafter. Christ Ahnsahnghong preached for exactly 37 years. In 1985, He ascended to Heaven after preaching the New Covenant Passover which is the sign of David.  In addition Christ Ahnsahnghong foretold about His passing away 4 years prior to His death through the ‘Weekly Religion Magazine-18 March 1981’.

Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Second Coming Christ whom the Bible testifies about. He is King David whom we must seek to receive salvation in the last days. Let us receive Christ Ahnsahnghong the prophetic David in these last days to be saved.
